Reminds me of Leisure suit Larry games

Very chill, I wish I three hands so I could play this on my keyboard...

hjcrbass responds:

Hey ManateeGod, I think we all want more hands when we play the keyboard, haha XP
Thanks for the review.

Me likey

Short but sweet, a lot of cool things going on here. I'd say add more stuff going on but I like it none the less!

On a side note, I REALLY liked what you did with the Drums, how did you make it go so fast??... I know next to nothing about writing speedy drum and bass lines.

RetromanOMG responds:

The song is played at 200bpm, which is already fast, but the drums breaks use a lot of 1/2, 1/4, and 1/6 notes in it to make it sound that much faster.

I love it but it's kinda scary!

THe begining reminds me of Jaws backwards....although it's also kind of like breathing, or maybe the baby is whimpering and the mother is singing her song above to try and lull it to sleep.

If you just had a low 'G' hum running through the whole piece I think that would make it less scary though :)

dude23 responds:

THIS ISNT A LULLABY TO PUT PEOPLE TO SLEEP! LOL

Sorry but...

I didn't find the repitious seven chords to be relaxing the bass is to driving, and the harmony isn't always the best (0:09- 0:13 for example).

If you're up for it, try doing ascending seven chords in the left had (like how you did the right hand), and slow whole note, or dotted-half/quater melody on top with the right hand.

Listen to some phillip glass, it's kind of the style that thois reminded me of, and keep it up dude ^_^

Wow, I appreciate the very in depth review you have there, as thats a concept that few people understand on NG. To be honest I made this almost a year ago, so the actual notes I don't even remember, as well as what I was doing, and sadly with what you're explaining to do, goes completely over my head, because I don't understand the concept. I have no experience in music theory, and etc. I just try to make what sounds good by myself. I'm glad to see you liked it as much as you did regardless of what's wrong with, and thank you for the advice.

Awesome

I'll be straight, I'm not a fan of the slow minor scale bits (0:39-0:43) and (0:55-0:59), maybe use the blues scale, or mix the rhythm up a bit... it sounds too basic and not melodic enough...the fast runs are sick though.

Since you're layering track at a time, you might even want to double the guitar for fun and do some running thirds/sixths, a la Iron maiden.

Much talent here, looking forward to hearing you in the up coming guitar hero games ^^

tyrellcherry responds:

this is just the sample im workin on the real song now but thanks man ill remember...thanks!

Awesome

ONly thing I could think of is that you might want to add even more intensity on bar four of your phrases, especially on the drop when the drums come in... maybe go nuts on a high frequency spazy beat or somethign.

Much better than I could do that's for sure, very nice job, and keep it up ^)^

beachbum1001 responds:

Hey man, I agree totally that I should be putting more umph on that 4th bar section just before it kicks into the main chorus.

Be sure to check out the final version of this song soon to come! I think you will like the changes/additions.

I lol'd

Hey guys, it gets better around 0:44...

Lol you kinda messed up at 0:55.

Just watch that third chord c# + with c major on top... the F and the high e really clash hardcore.. we actauly the whole chord does but you fix that and you're kinda on to something.

Props for playing something live and posting it.

~ManateGod ^_^
Jesusinthebox responds:

Actually that chord was using a tritone with B and F with C on the bottom and the dissonance is there for a reason ;D. It all playes to a Bi-tonality taste. with some Rachmaninoff type sprinkled in the middle. I appreciate your appreciation.

0:55.... yeahhh i know but all my songs have a little screw up somewhere if i record it live XD. you should hear the first recordings of all my songs oh god D=...

FL Studio for sure.

Do you have the full version or the demo? I can't stand the demo, because you can't save your files and work on it later.

Good use of all the sounds without much alteration. Used the "default Dance setup", power chords, bass, ect., but mixed them pretty well.

The B section doesn't really slip back into the A smoothly. Perhaps you could add a bridge to connect the two.

Hope you make some more stuff.

Dan1337h4x0r responds:

It was the full version, but I cant remember were i got it from

Vely nice!

What program do you use for your composing needs? I used to use Cubasis, but lent it to a friend and lost it -_-. Now I use Finale for sheet music, and FL Studio for loops.

Do youp play piano? It sounds as though you were messing around and came up with the main theme on the piano, and then added orchestration behind it.

This would sound great behind a video game track, anime (sorry if oyu're not a fan), or a childhood/monologue scene from a movie. It just has that innocence or solitude quality to it.

ANywho, great work. This was really nice to listen to, and I hope to hear more of your stuff!

~MG

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Something that should be noted by all is that I do play the piano. Every note heard in my music, by all instruments, is just me playing the piano. I just record one track of a song, then I go back and use different instruments and add those to it. And then I get a song. btw... I love anime. And I don't use a program at all. The only thing I use a computer for is recording the music from my keyboard onto the computer to send to Newgrounds. Thanks again.

Not bad not bad.

I bring in a deeper base when the beat comes thorugh; I get a very high tone feel from this elsewise.

I like some of your other stuff; this one just doesn't live up to your name. but it's more than decent.

Keep up the good work ^_^

littledinosaur responds:

well, this isn't the type of music i normally do, and I don't like this type of music.

However you're right about the bass and I'll possibly release an updated version with some fixes and additions.

Anyways thanks for the review.
