Nice stuff ^_^

DO you have the demo aswell? I find it very limiting, which can be frustrating at times. But you seem to have made good use of many of the sounds.

I really like that moaning sound that comes throuh every now and then: What instruments did you use? The lower pitched one sounds like a cello, but the higher ones I have no clue.

You should think about adding chords and stuff ontop of the whole work, although sometimes it messes things up really bad (heh, no comment >_> <_<). However this one sounds pretty good even without.

Your stuff tends to have a videogame trend going on with it, as in it sounds like stuff from gameboy/nintendo midi files, and that's where all the good shit is at. A lot of new stuff is all orchestrated and *hallmarked*, if may be so bold to say.

Keep up the good work, and can't wait to hear more.

P.S. Have/Are you submitting song to Erkie's contest? You've got a bit of a portfolio now (and probably a crapload of other stuff not yet finished/submitted), and it might be fun.

Meh, Take care.

Zerok responds:

No, BazzMann is suppose to get the demo to me. I'm too lazy to go to the site and get it. Still using FL3.

The monaing sound you're talking about is either the NITEMARE sample tweaked a bit or the low one that happens almost off the start. That one might have started out as a crash, actually. Major tweakage there. I'm not too sure, I'm not writing this on the computer that I made the .flp file on. When I go home I'll look. I know the bassline was made almost entirely from a sample called BangBass. The drums are all from the 'realistic' kit. I can send you a more detailed e-mail if you want. ^_^

Chords are something that I am still cautious about using. I'm not musically inclined enough yet to really put together something melodic. I've always been a drummer you see.

I actually have an unfinished piece that sounds *very* oldskool video game-esque. It might be my next submission. That or a cover tune.

I don't think I've heard of that contest. Are there details in the Audio Forum? I'll look around, and e-mail you if I can't find anything. Thanks for the review man!

Love the bass line, lol.

Seems like you had fun playing around with the melodic motifs in this one. I like the part wher the key modulates back and forth, and the rythms get more and more interesting.

One criticle note (srry): The piece stayed on that D almot the whole time. It would be neat to throw in some harmopnic varience here and there, or more simply put, moving harmonic line. For example:
After say 4 bars of the :|dd-dd---|, move to say g, or f, and then back down to d. The rythms/expansions on the motifs were well done, but I felt that would have been the next step (hey, it's only your third loop, eh? Listen to mine, lol -_-).

Great work on this. Have you given up on flash? I have next to no talent in that department, but I've never seen any of your work, and would love to sometime. Perhaps even one of theose line/dot flashes that are interpretive of one of oyur loops?

Anywho, good luck with you future endeavours.

Zerok responds:

Yeah, the note change may have added a bit more to 'er. I was just happy that I found such a hot sounding bass.

I shall listen to your loops ASAP!

As for flash, it has been moved to the back burner for now. I've found ability in FruityLoops; with Flash MX I was hardly progressing. All in due time though.

Thanks for the sexy review. =D
